Caption: The Oostpoort is definitely a true highlight of Delft. It’s located just outside the city center and is the only remaining city gate of Delft. The gate was built around 1400, but the towers were raised around 1510.
The East Gate consists of a land gate and a water gate that are connected by remains of a city wall. These defensive walls, gates and towers used to be very important for the city because Delft was an important trading city. Today, the Oostpoort houses a residence and an art gallery.
