Caption: We live in the DFW metroplex but usually only go into downtown Dallas for special events, live shows, to see exhibits at the art museums or to hear the symphony play.

It is nice to skip all the traffic sometimes, and easier when you have multiple places you want to visit.

Caption: Old Red Museum • One of my favorite buildings in Dallas. Built in 1891, it was once the Dallas County Courthouse. Romanesque Revival style with red sandstone and blue granite. It has Wyverns atop made of terra cotta, (reminiscent of gargoyles) and a 90ft high clock tower.

Caption: Reunion Tower • One of the most recognizable landmarks in Dallas. It is part of a hotel complex. There is a revolving restaurant on the top level, and an observation deck behind glass with 360° views of Dallas.

Caption: Bank of America Plaza • Looking up at the 72 story modern skyscraper, built in 1985, it is the tallest building in Dallas, and another favorite of mine.

Caption: Thanksgiving-square is not a very pretty place in Dallas, even the outside of this chapel is not striking, but if you care to venture inside and look up, you will see a 67 panel, spiral stained-glass window called the “Glory Window.”
