Caption: Bonifacio, located in the south of Corsica (France) in Corsican Bunifaziu, in Roman times Calcosalto, French / bonifacjo /) is a town of about 2,900 inhabitants, the Strait of Bonifacio that separates from Sardinia. It belongs to the department of Southern Corsica and is the southernmost municipality of metropolitan France, so excluding the overseas departments.
The village is built around a deep bay like a small fjord surrounded by walls of white limestone, inside of which have also been dug in the time rooms of old houses and warehouses.

Caption: Inside the fjord lies the port, mainly tourism, from which also ferries that run regularly from the city to nearby Sardinia Santa Teresa di Gallura (SS) at a distance of 12 km that are traveled in one hour by ferry.
