Caption: More Photo Spots in Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Manarola CINQUE TERRE VIEWS: PART TWO
Caption: In December 2015, I spent a week visiting the Cinque Terre in the Ligurian region of Italy. I wrote a Steller story back in February documenting my favorite locations for photography in Vernazza and Manarola.
As a followup, here's another six photos.

I quickly snapped this photo at the beginning of a six-hour hike from here to Monterosso al Mare with some new friends. It was taken out on the rocks by the town's dock area.

I found this particular viewpoint while hiking up through the hills behind the town.

Caption: "Seaside Splendor" - Vernazza
This was taken at a spot that can be reached within a few minutes from the town center by starting along the hiking path to Monterosso al Mare.

Caption: "Golden Coasts" - Vernazza
I tend toward sunset and twilight pictures, but while digging through my archive, I came across the golden hour version of my photo from Vernazza's (and maybe Italy's) most famous viewpoint.

Caption: "Christmas by the Sea" - Manarola
Dozens of illuminated figures line the terraced hills overlooking Manarola in an annual nativity scene. I hiked up into the hills behind the town to find this viewpoint, in order to include the nativity scene, the town, and the setting sun.

Caption: "Overcast Beauty" - Manarola
I originally cast this image aside because I liked my two sunrise photos from this spot better. But I grew to like the contrast between the city lights and the overcast twilight. This spot can be reached by hopping the fence at the main tourist viewpoint and climbing onto the rocks below.

Caption: I came away with 12 images I liked during my week-long stay in the Cinque Terre. However, I have not photographed Corniglia or Monterosso al Mare and I don't think I've truly done Riomaggiore justice.
I hope to return to Italy soon and revisit these seaside fishing villages. Time changes, but the beauty of the Cinque Terre remains.
