Caption: To get a taste of Canyonlands National Park, we traversed the Needles to reach the Colorado River, where we packrafted across to get to the Maze District. Four days and three nights was a very short time to spend exploring the area.

Today, only the most adventurous and well prepared hiker enters the complex and torturous systems of canyons, accessible only by four wheel drive vehicles and on foot."

Caption: Once we descended into the Maze, we found a seemingly impossible spring of water and enjoyed viewing ancient rock art such as the Harvest Scene.
Most archeologist believe that the Harvest Scene was painted by the Archaic People who lived in Utah from 8,000 to 2,000 years ago.

Caption: A viscious storm was enough to motivate us to exit the Maze, get back across the Colorado River, and find some sort of shelter for our last night.

Caption: We were beyond grateful that our tarp weathered the storm that night. In the morning we were a little tired + a little damp, but glad to not be under water.
