Picture
Caption: On April 28th 2019 I was lucky enough to be asked to take part in a moment that will be in history forever.
Tourism Ireland teamed up with @Steller and invited 28 social media influencers to visit different regions of this beautful country. We were asked to ‘fill our hearts’ with ireland - create content & share stories from this 24hr period, you can follow this day at #digitalireland
The town that I was sent to explore is called Bushmills.
Bushmills is a small town on the Coastal Causeway Drive and its a great place to base yourself to explore some of Northern Irelands beautiful locations.
The coastal drive runs along the north coast of Ireland from Belfast to Londonderry.

Great location, plenty of parking, (most importantly) comfy beds, amazing food and a great bar.

Legend says that the Giant’s Causeway was built by an Irish Giant who was challenged to fight a Scottish giant so he built a bridge across the northern channel so they could dual.
In fact the Causeway is an area of approx 40,000 interlocking basalt columns which were formed from ancient volcanic eruptions.

Caption: Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is believed to have been built in 1755 by salmon fisherman to connect the mainland to a small island called Carrickarede (meaning “Rock of the Casting” in Irish). The bridge spans 20 meters and is 30 meters above the ocean below.

Caption: The Dark Hedges - made famous thanks to HBO filming the Kings Road scenes from Game of Thrones here.
The trees are hundreds of years old and a lot of them have been destroyed from having to much traffic driving along the road and destroying the root systems, now the road had been blocked to all traffic to protect this amazing place.
* get there early if you want a picture without anyone walking along the road 🤭
