Caption: A winter wonderland in the desert BRYCE CANYON
Caption: Bryce Canyon has beautiful soaring red rock pillars, a unique landscape nestled high in the mountains in Southern Utah. The summers can be brutally hot and the winter bitterly cold.
My favorite time to go is in the winter.
Caption: Why winter?
Because Bryce Canyon transforms into something more beautiful under a new dusting of snow.

Caption: It had been snowing in Bryce Canyon all week, and I wanted to capture a sunrise after a storm.
I woke up early, checked the skies and saw a band of clouds right over the canyon. I looked at the temperature...a brisk 10 F. I bundled up and hurried up to the canyon.

Caption: It's well worth the effort to get up early to watch the sun light up Bryce in the morning! Dress as warm as you can because there is usually a strong, bitterly cold breeze at sunrise. You'll soon forget about your freezing limbs once you see the show start.
