Caption: BOBBY SANDS Bobby Sands was a member of the paramilitary group the Irish Republican Army and a member of the UK parliament. He led the 1981 hunger strike and died in Prison Maze while on strike.

Caption: “PAINT ME, PAINT ME” This had a funny story! So, this sits right next to the famous Bobby Sands Mural. The story behind this is a Romanian man used to play the accordian whilst Danny Devenny worked away. He’d shout, “paint me, paint me”, so Danny did!

Caption: THE DUEL OF BELFAST, DANCE BY CANDLELIGHT This piece, “The Duel of Belfast, Dance by Candlelight” by Conor Harrington was painted back in 2012 and apparently it go without a few raised eyebrows at the time.

Caption: STILL WATERS The wolf is on Belfast's shield, wolves were once an integral part of the Irish countryside and culture. The stance between the wolf & modern young woman is a subtle reference to the tensions during the troubles, a retrospective look & acknowledgement of past and present.
