In downtown Belfast you would never know this was a city once torn apart by violence.
I LOVED my time in Belfast and would welcome returning to eat, drink, and play some more.

Caption: Where you really see how recent and raw things are is when you visit the neighborhoods, which are still very segregated. There are murals dedicated to those that were lost in the fighting. You can take a black cab tour to hear one perspective.

Caption: It is most startling when you see the “Peace Wall” that divides the two sides. It is covered with murals and people sign their name of leave a message of hope but look at those spikes still on top.
