Caption: Azcapotzalco is a borough in Mexico City. Its name comes from an ancient town. I walked with my father to discover the town and we saw beautiful and amazing constructions there.

Caption: Clavería XIX century neighborhood swallowed by the city

Caption: Clavería is a nineteenth century neighborhood built in the outskirts of Azcapotzalco. It was created for the rich people of the area and many "chalet" style houses were built there. All of them preserve their big, beautiful gardens and their ancient charm. Most of its remaining houses can be found in Azcapotzalco Ave.
Caption: While we were taking photos, a woman told us that the police would come if we took photos of the houses and then she took a picture of us. My father and I just walked away but she followed us. We found other street and hid there for a while. Luckily, she disappeared and we returned to Azcapotzalco Ave.

Caption: The Convent Colonial past

Caption: The construction of the San Felipe convent started in 1540. It's very big and lots of people go to the mass on Sundays. It preserves some of its original paintings and its Colonial essence. It also has an enormous garden in front of the church. We couldn't take photos inside the church because of the mass but we enjoyed visiting it.

Caption: Culture House Late XIX century building

Caption: The Azcapotzalco Culture House was built in 1891 as Azcapotzalco's Municipal Palace. Now it's a culture house where people take classes of pretty much everything. There were people dancing, and teens singing in an auditorium. The building is gorgeous and gives you sort of a peaceful feeling.

Caption: Alameda Norte Green corner in the big city

Caption: The North Alameda is a park near the historic center of Azcapotzalco. My father and I decided to take a rest after visiting so much buildings and we went there. It's absolutely beautiful and its lake was designed as a scale model of the ancient Texcoco lake. Lots of families go to the North Alameda to take a rest of the big city.
