Caption: Ingredients - 2 cups of plain flour
- 200 grams of butter (cubed and chilled)
- 1 large egg
- cold water
- one pinch of salt
- juice of one lemon
- 2 Granny Smiths apples
- 3 teaspoons of cinnamon powder (more or less, depending on your love for cinnamon)
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar

Caption: - mix together the flour and salt
- rub in the chilled butter only with your fingertips until there's no butter larger than a pea (consistency of the dough would be like bread crumbs now)
- in a cup, add water and ice
- in a separate cup, crack in the egg and top up with cold water until it reaches the half cup Mark
- add in the egg mixture into the flour and use a fork to mix
- if the mixture is too sticky, add a little bit more flour (not too much) just so it comes into a ball. Chill the dough for one hour in the fridge
Picture
Caption: - slice the apples using the mandoline and add in the lemon juice, cinnamon and sugar until it's well mixed.
- take out your dough and depending on the size of your oven, choose if you want to make a giant one or two big galattes (I separated mine into two). Roll out the dough into an oval shape, with just about 3 to 5 mm thick (not too thick).
- arrange the apples, making sure that there's a 1.5cm border. Fold the edges and egg wash the edges with a little sprinkle of brown sugar before you bake it.
- bake at 250 degrees for 15-20 mins (a little longer if it's not ready). It should be golden brown!
- serve warm (with jam if you want!) and enjoy your gathering!
