Caption: Back & Fourth It was our intention to drive from Chicago on the 22nd December down to Alabama and back up to New York City by the 30th. So we organised a hire car in Melbourne (home) before we left.
Long story short, the Chicago tax rate on hire cars is close to 50% so we needed to fork out another $1000 in order to get the car.
After four trips back and fourth on the airport shuttle and the purchasing of an airline ticket at the check in desk, (something that probably been done since the 80s) we had ourselves a Hyundai Getz. Oooooo yeah, Americana!
