Far away from the hustle and bustle of town and past the beaches is this serene bit of nature where you can get a good look at the lighthouse. If you’re interested, you can also hire a boat to take you out there!

Caption: This lengthy promenade is one of the shining jewels of Santander. If you’re short on time, I’d put this at the top of your list as it offers great views and opportunities to mingle with the locals. The statues of swimmers, Los Raqueros, is a popular attraction located near the eastern end of the Paseo.

Caption: Want to taste some delicious cheeses, wines, and maybe some of Northern Spain’s traditional pinchos? This is a great place to start! El Mercado del Este has been around since 1842, and I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon.

Caption: With captivating views of the Bay of Biscay, the Magdalena Palace makes for an impressive stop in Santander. It was built in the early 1900’s as a Royal summer residence. It’s surrounded by lush grounds and sits within short walking-distance to a handful of beautiful beaches.
