Caption: The sun was already behind the mountains when we reached the lodge. The shuttle was full. In front of us, an older couple with a dog was looking at the pink peaks. Beside us was a young couple; the woman was sitting on the man. She said she was craving for some food and to jump in the hot tub, and you could hear her pretty well in the small bus. Finally, a large group of friends were occupying the rest of the seats. They seemed to enjoy the view in silence. The shuttle crossed the bridge and drove up the hill between the trees and the cabins to finally reach the main lodge. It was Christmas Eve, and Emerald Lake Lodge never felt more beautiful.

Caption: I saw a tree brushed away by a brown furry form, and the most beautiful female moose slowly came out of the woods. She stayed out in the open for a little bit and proceeded to her path, following the tree lines down the road. Luckily enough, I had my camera on the back seat, and I was able to photograph it through the door even so briefly. I called this moment my Christmas gift as after five years living in Canada around Ontario, British Columbia, and now Alberta, I was finally able to get a moose on camera!

Caption: When you live in Canada, you tend to expect a white Christmas. We woke up to witness the light struck the mountain peaks from our window. And after quite a large breakfast at the Mount Burgess Restaurant, we hiked the loop trail around the lake.
