Love Song, Virginia Beach 🎶✨ One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Period. Some restaurants feed you. Love Song makes you feel something. From the moment we walked in under that glowing sign, with the warm lights, the art on the walls and the buzz of the open kitchen, I knew this night was going to be special. The food is a true fusion, and it’s incredible. Chef Mike Hill pulls from Spanish and Basque cooking, French brasserie classics and Southern American comfort, then builds everything around what local farmers and fishermen bring in that week. Every plate layers flavor on flavor. Think rockfish crudo with blood orange, grilled mackerel with saffron aioli, charcoal-roasted vegetables, farro with smoky pork jowl, and a radicchio caesar with anchovies and crunchy breadcrumbs. Nothing on the menu is ordinary, and nothing misses. 🍽️🔥 The drinks are just as thoughtful. The cocktails are inventive and perfectly balanced (the Rude Boy, with rum, falernum, pineapple, lime and egg white, is a must), and the natural wine list is full of bottles you won’t find anywhere else. 🍹🍷 And the service? Unbelievable. Warm, genuine, knowledgeable, and the kind of attention that makes you feel like a regular on your very first visit. They walked us through the menu, the pairings were spot on, and every plate came out at exactly the right moment. Then there’s dessert. Olive oil cake with buttermilk cream is the perfect last verse. 🍰 If you’re anywhere near Virginia Beach, do yourself a favor: book a table, sit at the counter, order more than you think you need and let Love Song play. 💛
