I didn't realize how much New Mexico had to offer until I spent a few days exploring it for myself! If you're planning a trip there, specifically Albuquerque and the surrounding areas, here are a few activities worth adding to your itinerary: 🏛️ Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Watch traditional cultural dance performances, explore exhibits, and learn about the history and culture of New Mexico's 19 Pueblo communities. 🛍️ Local Markets Shop from local artists and makers, listen to live music, try regional foods, and support small businesses. There are several markets throughout the area, especially on weekends. We visited Downtown Growers’ Market and Rail Yards Market. Highly recommend both! 🏞️ Day Trip to Jemez, New Mexico Take a scenic day trip through the mountains and explore some of the area's most unique natural and historical attractions. Stop by Soda Dam to see a natural limestone waterfall and snap a few photos along the way. Then head to Jemez Hot Springs to relax in mineral-rich soaking pools surrounded by gardens, mountain views, and peaceful scenery. And finish at Jemez Historic Site where you can walk through the ruins of a 17th-century Spanish mission and learn about the area's fascinating history. What surprised me most about New Mexico was how much there was to do beyond the food. Between the culture, history, outdoor adventures, and beautiful scenery, it's the perfect destination for a long weekend getaway.
