Not only does this shop/non-profit do so much good! But you can also find some amazing deals! As a refuge escaping your home because you need safety is hard. A lot of refugees end up working labor intensive jobs (my mom worked 12+ hours in a frozen chicken plant pulling apart chickens while freezing) just to make ends meet and take care of their families. With organizations like this, they can work from where they feel comfortable, make a living wage, and do something more enjoyable! You can see the different products that women right in Baton Rouge make! Other products like many of the clothes are donated from boutiques from items that didn’t sell. The women get to go through first and then everything else is for sale. You’re getting brand new clothes for as little as $5 while supporting a good cause. The books are bought discount used/slightly damaged and go to support the nonprofit. There are also cards throughout the store sharing about the women you are supporting.
