We loved strolling through Bushy Park, which is right next to King Henry VIII’s Hampton Court Palace, so it makes sense that it was his favorite deer park (aka hunting grounds). There’s over 1000 acres to explore and lots of birds and wildlife to see, including roaming deer who don’t seem to be afraid of humans. The celebrated architect Sir Christopher Wren (who designed London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral) designed the spectacular Diana Fountain which is the park’s most famous landmark. And during WWII, history was made in Bushy Park when the D-Day landings were planned from a military base set up here, led by General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
