Praia Lopes Mendes is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. Lopes Mendes Beach is a beach with fine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and perfect waves for surfing. Located on the east coast of the island, the beach is surrounded by lush vegetation and mountains that make it a place of unique beauty. To get to Lopes Mendes Beach, there are some options. The most challenging is the famous trail that starts from Vila do Abraão and is about 7 km long. The hike is long, but completely worth it. It passes through jungle areas, several beaches and both flat gravel trails and uneven muddy path. Another option is to take a taxi boat to Praia do Pouso and then hike for about 10 minutes. The last option, but not the nicest, is to take a bigger boat straight to the beach, advisable only for those with walking disabilities.
