The old town of Recife is a place for beautiful buildings, the old harbour, and this charming square. The Marco Zero Square, or Rio Branco Square, is a landmark in the city center of Recife. From the colorful wind-rose, painted by Cicero Dias, distance measurements of Pernambuco's roads begins. From the square it is visible, and possible to achieve by boat, the Sculpture Park Francisco Brennand, and its most impressive sculpture, the 32 meter high "Torre de Cristal", inspired in a flower discovered by the landscapist Burle Marx.
