A peaceful spot in Los Osos, perfect for bird watching or to catch the sunset, the Sweet Springs Nature Preserve is a 32-acre open space with views out to the back bay of Morro Bay Estuary and Morro Rock. Owned by Morro Coast Audubon Society, this preserve provides important breeding habitat for dozens of different types of birds. There is no beach access, but there are several benches along the boardwalk. Grab some sandwiches from nearby High Street Deli and plop down on one of the benches to enjoy the sounds of nature while watching local and migratory birds fly by.
