I adore this brewery and gastropub that's close to the ocean and in the touristy area of Manhattan Beach. Even though it's not a hidden gem, I treat it like one because when it's crowded, it doesn't seem like people are really there to appreciate just how good it is - they're just there to get drunk. But I love visiting when it's still empty, just after it's opened with a book while I enjoy a flight and a pretzel with beer cheese. The soundtrack is always classic, filled with hits that are well curated and the Shepherd Fairy- inspired art that nods to Britain makes me smile. It reminds me of lazy pub afternoons with friends in the UK. Also, the beer is great. Don't skip on the crème ale!! Order at least a pint.
