I recently learned Martha’s has been serving Hermosa Beach since 1984 but the decor these days speaks of somewhere newer and trendier. I don’t know when it was last redone but the current decor is so fun! I love the focus on Gray Malin-style photographs [or actual Gray Malin prints?] and the fun, bright colors that remind you you’re near the beach in California! But it’s the food, coffee and service that always bring me back. I think it’s what brings most locals back to Martha’s over and over and over. Because Martha’s is not right on the main tourist drag in Hermosa Beach, it can fly under the radar, which is just how we like it. I cannot more highly recommend the White Corn Scramble. It’s a speciality of the house and an item I cannot recreate at home no matter how hard I try. Get it! But get other things too, and visit with friends who don’t mind sharing food. That’s the best way to do Martha’s! #hiddengems
