Looking to do a day trip from New Orleans? Here are 4 things I did in New Iberia, Louisiana! 1️⃣ Take a drive through the beautiful Jungle Gardens on Avery Island! There’s are spots you can get out and walk around too. If you’re looking for wildlife, you’ll spot plenty of gators, as well as a huge bird colony! 2️⃣ The Rip Van Winkle Gardens are another beautiful place to visit, and their on-site restaurant is absolutely worth it as a lunch stop. I loved the crawfish etouffee, and if you can get outdoor seating, even better! Don’t miss all the peacocks wandering the gardens as well. 3️⃣ Check out a festival! We were in town for the annual New Iberia Spanish Festival, but festivals are constantly going on around the state of Louisiana, so do your research before your trip and see what’s on! 4️⃣ The Tabasco Museum is an absolute must. Taste test all the flavors of Tabasco, dine at their Cajun restaurant, and check out how Tabasco is made. Any food lover will love this place! What’s your favorite thing in Louisiana?
