The tour of the two fortified churches from Transylvania is starting with the visit to Prejmer Fortified Church which is listed on UNESCO historic churches of Romania and is known as one of the best-preserved fortified churches in Transylvania and the largest fortified church in southeastern Europe. The next stop in our tour is Harman Fortified Church, built in the 13th century by Saxons colonists in order to protect the church from different invaders. Rising from its own ruin, the Marienburg Fortress rises imposingly at Feldioara, on the banks of the Olt, only 20 km from Brașov, on the road to Sighișoara. Its restoration, carried out in 2013-2017, saved the remains of the walls that had survived the last hundred years of abandonment and restored its appearance in the seventeenth century. The strategic position, with visibility over a large area, and the natural advantages have made this place attractive in prehistory. During the archeological researches, the plateau on which the fortress rises revealed vestiges of habitation from the earliest times - Neolithic, Bronze Age, Dacian and Roman period, but especially the Middle Ages.
