Orgosolo Bread Workshop and Visit to the Bread Museum

A beautiful experience, between food and tradition, at the Carasau Bread Museum in Orgosolo, in the heart of Sardinia in the province of Nuoro. Located in the center, framed by the characteristic murals that fresco the streets, the museum boasts about two centuries (latest evidence refers to 1848). Remained intact in its beauty and typicality of the buildings of the period. The museum houses the ancient utensils used for the production of the typical bread of Orgosolo: "Su Pane Tostu" (Pane Carasau) and "s’ispianada" (the esplanade). You then reach the Sa Sedda de as bacas site full of attractions such as: a monumental yew tree and the nuragic site of Su campu de sa Càrcara, the Sa Sedda de as bacas sheepfold and a unique karst phenomenon: the fairytale Pischina Gurthàddala . The hike continues until you reach the panoramic points of Tròcari and S’Ischina de s’Arraica: from here you can admire the immense scenery dominated by the Gorropu gorge. Gorropu: trekking towards the most spectacular canyon in Sardinia

You will experience indescribable sensations in visiting one of the most suggestive natural monuments of Sardinia, you will find yourself in one of the wildest places on the island. Located between the municipalities of Urzulei and Orgosolo, it is about 1.5 km long, from the Cucutos point, it sinks for about 500 m.; on the bottom it narrows to reach in some places the minimum width of 4 - 5 m. These hard shapes make Gorropu a world pearl, an authentic masterpiece of nature and at the same time a precious treasure chest of biodiversity. It is the most spectacular canyon in Europe, as well as one of the deepest. Gorropu is a gorge of erosive origin, one and a half kilometers long, which marks the border between the Barbarian territory of Orgosolo and that of Ogliastra Urzulei. It has been shaped over time by the strength of the Flumineddu stream that flows on the bottom, fed by waters that cross the Supramonte, partly infiltrating underground tunnels, partly re-emerging from sources downstream of the gorge.
