The Coromandel Coast Private Tour will take you to one of the most stunning areas of New Zealand. Formerly known largely for its Hardrock Gold Mining and Kauri, the Coromandel is now popular for tourism, especially ecotourism. This area is also home to various marine life, including dolphins, little blue penguins and fish (not guaranteed) Then take in the beautiful bush scenery on the 1-hour train ride at the Driving Creek Railway. Once at the top, you will be in awe of the panoramic views over the islands. Before you head back to Auckland, you will get the unique experience of digging your very own private natural spa pool at the famous Hot Water Beach. Cathedral Cove Day Trip from Auckland

Your day will begin with a pick up from your central Auckland hotel in an air conditioned minivan. Then there is a scenic 2-hour drive to the small Coromandel town of Tairua. From here, take a 15-minute guided hike to the summit of Mt. Paku, a small volcano with amazing views of the Coromandel coastline. Then after a short drive, proceed with your small group to complete a 1.5-hour walk to the magnificent Cathedral Cove, with the option of visiting the other coves along the way. You will spend at least 30 minutes enjoying the beach and coastline at Cathedral Cove. After the walk back and another short drive, spend some time dipping your toes in the unique natural hot springs at Hot Water Beach (exact timing depends on the tide schedule). Lunch will be from a boutique café at Hot Water Beach or Hahei Beach (own expense) before returning to Auckland around 6pm.

Whitianga: Cathedral Cove Thrilling Boat Tour, Caves & Snorkeling

At 7.8 metres, Cave Cruzer is the only vessel of its size in Mercury Bay, small enough to navigate inside caves and blowholes larger boats cannot enter, open-topped so nothing blocks your view above. Between stops, Brian opens the throttle. You will cover 24 kilometres of protected Coromandel coastline at speed. Cave Cruzer goes inside the ancient blowholes and cave systems that line the route. Other boats do not. Cathedral Cove is the centrepiece, Te Hoho Rock, the Sleeping Dragon, Narnia filming locations, seen from the water. Further along, Whale Cave and the hole in the rock at Poikeke Island are landmarks that only make sense from the water. The tour heads inside Orua, New Zealand's second-largest sea cave, where Brian plays music so you can hear what 700 cubic metres of rock does to sound.
