Lovech – the old town and Varosha quarter – where are located the ethnographic complex and the Vasil Levski house museum. Lovech is known as the center of the Internal Revolutionary Organization of the revolutionary Vasil Levski in his struggle for liberation from Ottoman rule. In the highest part of the old town are the remains of the Hisarya fortress. Near the fortress is the monument to Vasil Levski. The covered bridge over the Osam River is the symbol of Lovech.
