Rishikesh Heritage Walk: Temples, Ghats & the Ganges
Discover the spiritual heart of Rishikesh on a serene riverfront walking tour that connects the city’s most iconic temples, ashrams, and three historic suspension bridges. Begin your journey at Laxman Jhula, where legends of Lord Rama and Laxman come alive as you walk across the Ganga with sweeping views of the Himalayan foothills and the bustling riverfront markets below.
Continue onward to Ram Jhula, a vibrant spiritual corridor lined with temples, sadhus, and stalls offering chai, sweets, and devotional items. Walk along peaceful pathways by the Ganga as you pass Gita Bhavan, Swarg Ashram, Parmarth Niketan Ashram and other sacred landmarks that form the cultural soul of Rishikesh.
The walk concludes at the tranquil Sivananda Ashram, a renowned center for yoga, meditation, selfless service, and traditional Himalayan teachings. Here, you can wind down by exploring the ashram campus, visiting the temple, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere by the river.
