Despite being close to many of Turkey's most popular tourist attractions and holiday destinations, the region surrounding Mount Latmos (now Besparmak) has been kept relatively secret. Its boulder-covered landscape is dotted with traditional villages where residents still make their living harvesting honey, pine nuts, and olives, some in colorful traditional clothing. The area is also steeped in ancient history, from 8000-year-old wall paintings and Hellenistic ruins to monasteries and frescoes left by the Byzantines. On this mountain biking tour, we'll see it all: the culture, the history, and the unbelievable landscape of the Latmos region.
