Fishing charter - Hauraki Gulf

The Captain is a unique kiwi with a friendly and helpful disposition. Over the years I have been referred to as Captain Lozza and it’s stuck. I have been fishing these waters for the past 20 years in a variety of vessels and I am very familiar with the Hauraki Gulf which makes the sightseeing option one that won't leave clients disappointed. I have been lucky to have learnt from the best, he has vast experience as a commercial and recreational fisher in the Hauraki and especially the Coromandel region. As is the case with most traditional hunting disciplines, the Master passes on his skills and knowledge to the apprentice. I was the apprentice for many years, also learning from other great anglers and after completing my SRL Skippers ticket last year I have graduated to Master. I know a lot about fishing and guarantee to show you a good time and will do my best to assist you in landing the big one! Whitianga: Cathedral Cove Thrilling Boat Tour, Caves & Snorkeling

At 7.8 metres, Cave Cruzer is the only vessel of its size in Mercury Bay, small enough to navigate inside caves and blowholes larger boats cannot enter, open-topped so nothing blocks your view above. Between stops, Brian opens the throttle. You will cover 24 kilometres of protected Coromandel coastline at speed. Cave Cruzer goes inside the ancient blowholes and cave systems that line the route. Other boats do not. Cathedral Cove is the centrepiece, Te Hoho Rock, the Sleeping Dragon, Narnia filming locations, seen from the water. Further along, Whale Cave and the hole in the rock at Poikeke Island are landmarks that only make sense from the water. The tour heads inside Orua, New Zealand's second-largest sea cave, where Brian plays music so you can hear what 700 cubic metres of rock does to sound. Optional snorkelling and rock jumping available, subject to conditions.

Cathedral Cove & Hot Water Beach Small Group Tour from Auckland

Your day will begin with a pick up from your central Auckland hotel, then relax in the air-conditioned minivan for the scenic 2 hour drive through the countryside to the small Coromandel town of Tairua. We will stop to use the bathrooms and take a picture of Mt Paku - an extinct volcano. Next, take a 30 minute guided walk through the forest and along the coast to the magnificent Cathedral Cove. Spend at least 30 minutes enjoying the white sand beach, clear water, and iconic arch made famous by the Narnia films. Lunch will be from a local café at Hot Water Beach or Hahei (own expense).
