From Valencia: Alcalá del Júcar Private Day Trip with Guide
Leave the coast behind and journey through the rolling Valencian and Castilian countryside, where vineyards, olive groves, and gentle mountains create postcard-perfect views. Arrive at Alcalá del Júcar, a stunning whitewashed village perched above a gorge carved by the emerald Júcar River, crowned by a 12th-century Moorish castle.
Explore the old town on foot, wandering winding streets past cave homes carved into the rock, the blue-domed Church of San Andrés, the Roman bridge, and the unique bullring built into the gorge. From the castle ramparts, enjoy breathtaking views over the valley below.
Pass the river beach, ideal for summer swims, stop at scenic viewpoints—magical in March with almond blossoms—and enjoy a drink inside the town’s famous caves. See why Alcalá del Júcar is one of Spain’s “Top 10 Prettiest Towns,” then finish with lunch overlooking the village or river, savoring regional Castilian cuisine and local Manchuela wine.
