Children may join it but the private tour option is more suitable. This tour typically lasts 2 hours to 2.5 hours and it includes entry to Magdalen college, where CS Lewis taught. If Magdalen is ever closed, we will inform you & offer refund or reschedule date or proceed with a visit to an alternative such as Exeter college, where Tolkien studied. There are several options for Oxford Harry Potter tours- indeed, we created the original Hogwarts tours here which have since been much copied and we have led tens of thousands of Muggles of all ages. However, this experience includes entry to all three of the film sites on an extended tour which is aimed at the most fanatical of you Muggles who want to squeeze into one day to make the most of your day trip to Oxford! In the morning, we will visit inside New college and stop by the Turf Tavern which is said to have inspired the Three Broomsticks and is where the actors used to relax after filming. Then you have some limited free time to get a quick lunch stop. In the afternoon, you will see inside the Divinity school at the Bodleian library and then finish with self guided entry to Christ church. Note that entry to Duke Humfreys library at the Bodleian is not included and the only reason why is because its entry tickets usually sell out, 2 weeks ahead but we can advise you on it.

Christ Church is the most famous college in the world's oldest English-speaking university, unique in having a chapel that's also a cathedral. It has been a place of worship for 1300 years, founded by a feisty Saxon saint before Oxford even existed. Over time it became home not just to thousands of scholars but to the real Alice in Wonderland and, more recently, a famous boy wizard. I invite you to travel back in time via the spectacular Tudor dining hall, miraculously rescued ancient shrine, carved throne of doomed King Charles I, fabulous Hogwarts staircase and rare medieval stained glass windows to get a history of not just the college, but England itself.
