Virginia Beach is so much more than just a beach town. From historic lighthouses and unique museums to waterfront restaurants, local farms, and oceanfront stays, there’s plenty to fill a weekend (or longer!). I put together some of my favorite spots from my time exploring the area.

Virginia Beach
This hotel is all about location. Sitting directly on the beach, Hyatt House Virginia Beach Oceanfront makes it easy to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and the boardwalk. I highly recommend booking a room with a balcony because waking up to ocean views or ending the day listening to the waves is hard to beat.
The Cavalier is one of Virginia Beach’s most iconic hotels and a must-see even if you aren’t staying overnight. This historic property dates back to 1927 and has hosted famous guests over the years. Today, it combines old-world charm with modern luxury, making it one of the most beautiful places to stay (or simply visit) in Virginia Beach.
This newer oceanfront resort is a great option if you want modern accommodations with easy beach access and a great outdoor pool. The rooms offer beautiful ocean views, and the location puts you close to many restaurants and attractions along the Virginia Beach boardwalk. It’s a convenient home base for a weekend getaway.
