Oklahoma City Comets
Play ball! It was a beautiful night, so it was a bonus that we could walk to the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark from our hotel to catch an OKC Comets game. The city’s Triple-A baseball team provided the night’s entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere that combined hometown energy and all the classic ballpark food we were looking forward to.

Lee's Sandwiches
Before heading west out of OKC, we stopped at Lee’s Sandwiches, located on a stretch of historic Route 66. Known for their variety of Vietnamese food items, fresh-baked goods, and sandwiches, Lee’s was the perfect place to pick up a grab-and-go lunch for later in the day.

Red Rock Canyon Campground and Adventure Park
About an hour's drive west of OKC, this unique canyon in central Oklahoma features striking red canyon walls, miles of hiking trails, and many camping options, including several glamping facilities. It’s a scenic stop that shows off a different side of Oklahoma, with rugged landscapes that feel far removed from the city. And to top it off, the park’s entrance station serves coffee and ice cream to add a little civilization to your visit.

Staying in a cabin at Foss State Park is a peaceful way to experience western Oklahoma. With Foss Lake as its main feature, the park offers easy access to boating, hiking, and wide-open views. Our cabin was the perfect place to slow down for the night and enjoy the scenic park setting.

Dinner at White Dog Hill Restaurant was a rustic yet upscale dining experience in a beautifully restored, 100-year-old setting near Clinton, Oklahoma. Known for steaks and seafood, it’s a must-experience stop that feels both refined and distinctly Oklahoma. And the people we met there could not have been more welcoming.

Jerry's
Jerry’s is a classic diner with booths and seats at the counter that made us feel we were back in the heyday of Route 66. It’s casual, friendly, and serves all the classic comfort food that hits the spot when you’re on the road. We love a restaurant that serves breakfast all day; Matt was in heaven with his chicken and waffles.

The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a sleek downtown stay located next to some of the city's biggest attractions. It was the perfect home base for us on the final day of our trip. Right downtown next to Scissortail Park, we could relax in our comfortable room and minutes later be walking through the park, enjoying the gardens and views of the city.

They had us at smashburger. SPARK is a casual spot in Scissortail Park and the perfect place to grab lunch or dinner, especially if you want something relaxed with a great outdoor setting. We stopped here for a burger, shake, and Pink Fries. The perfect fuel-up before exploring the park and surrounding areas.

Scissortail Park is one of downtown Oklahoma City's signature public spaces, with walking paths, gardens, and skyline views. Nearby SkyDance Bridge is one of the city's most recognizable modern landmarks. Walk the path over the bridge and under the sculpture for a better view and hang around until dusk when they light it up.
