Shinjuku is the first area of Tokyo my boyfriend and I stayed in when visiting Japan in May 2023. It is bustling with restaurants and shops, but has a calmer energy than Shibuya! This area is known for its narrow alleys bustling with over 200 bars and restaurants.

This is a beautiful site full of culture, traditional art and should not be missed. It's surrounded by lush greens and will give you a sense of calm and gratitude (at least it did for me 🥹).

Known as one of the best places to see the spring cherry blossoms, this garden is worth visiting any time of year. These expansive gardens once belonged to Japanese royalty and are a lovely escape from the concrete cityscapes. Great for relaxing, reading, and getting fresh air.

I found out about this are by going to a delicious gluten-free restaurant I've added to this trip (check the Eat section". My first impression was that Rippongi is focused on businesses and have beautiful, upscale malls I found one of my favorite pairs of pants at that I still wear to this day!

Girls... you must go here. This is such a fun mall for the best unique, girly Japanese fashion. My favorite is the hair accessory store on the second floor! I bought so many cute hair clips, ties and ribbons there. I will warn you, the quality isn't always the best BUT everything is very cheap and you'll have so much fun.
