Day 1

The Westin Warsaw
Located just north of downtown, it is usually priced well and located for reasonable walks to midtown, oldtown, the train station and shopping.

Old Town Market Square
Head to oldtown for a wonderful walk. This oldtown was destroyed during the war. Through thousands of pictures and recovery of brick and material, it was brought back to its original glory.

The Royal Castle in Warsaw
Take a tour of this historic old town fixture. Enjoy the street artists that are usually found out front and views across the river.

U Fukiera
End the day with a masterful dinner here at Fukiera. The soups (a Polish specialty) are amazing. I don't normally recommend "on the old square" eateries, but this one is amazing. Reservations recommended.

Day 2

Warsaw Uprising Museum
The second day is a rememberance day of the unjust occupations of Warsaw. This is a world class museum, so well done it should not be missed.

Ghetto Memorial Plaques
Very few remnants of the wall exist, but this one is quietly tucked away and a short walk from the Westin.

Ghetto wall
A monument outlining where the wall existed. If you walk more in the northern part of town you will notice outlines in brass on the curbs and streets where the wall once existed.

After a long day of rememberance, it is important to lift the spirits. Order the meat platter for two and many manty beers. ;-)

Day 3

Saxon Garden
Start your day with a walk through this small but great city park. Ensure to look around at the statues.... you will even find one of US President Ronald Reagan.

Museum of Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw
One of the prize masters of Polish classical music, this museum is a must. Again, you can walk from the Westin, through the park and wind up here at the museum.

Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów
Ensure you book tickets and a car to get to this magnificent piece of architecture with gardens to match. Also, if you take taxis, take licensed taxis, unlicensed taxis are around in Poland, but cost much much more.
