Café Piha - Coffee Shop - Torréfacteur - Boutique
Grab a coffee at Café Piha. Getting there makes for a nice first walk through the city and will take you into Bordeaux Old Town where a lot of beautiful architecture is. I can personally recommend the cookies here as well. 🤤

Make sure to check out this massive clock in the heart of Bordeaux. It’s one of the city’s most important historical sites and it dates back to medieval times.

L'Intendant Grands Vins de Bordeaux
Continue your walk through the city and stop inside this unique wine shop! It houses a huge selection of wine from Bordeaux and the design is stunning. It features a spiraling staircase you can walk up.

Palais Gallien
These are ruins of a Roman amphitheater in Bordeaux. They’re located right next to Jardin Public which is a massive public park in the city. You can view the ruins for free and then swing by the park to take a break.

A relaxing dinner spot for your first night in Bordeaux. At Monkey Mood, you’ll find delicious vegan options such as nasi goreng, jackfruit burgers, and gado gado. I love the smoothies here too and it’s a short walk back to Outsite.

L'Alchimiste Café Boutique
I love exploring new coffee shops on the weekend and The Alchemist turned out to be one of my favorites in Bordeaux. They have indoor and outdoor seating and speciality coffee.

Marché des Capucins
Saturday is the best day to explore the biggest market in Bordeaux - Marché des Capucins. Here you’ll find everything from chocolate chip cookies to Moroccan mint tea and fresh oysters. This was, hands down, my favorite food experience in Bordeaux!

Homie's Kitchen Bordeaux
If snacking at the market only made you more hungry (like it did, me), I recommend grabbing a late brunch at Homie’s Kitchen. Their eggs benedict is amazing!

Librairie La NUIT DES ROIS
Right next to Homie’s Kitchen is the cutest used bookshop. It’s bright and airy inside and the books cover the walls from floor to ceiling. The owner also sells magazines and posters.

For a fun night out, head to Palatino! You may need a reservation but it’s worth it to experience the quirky decor and unique cocktails. I went here with some of the other solo travelers I met at Outsite.

Start your Sunday with brunch at HORACE café.cuisine.canons. This restaurant is cozy, beautifully decorated, and serves delicious food. They’re particularly known for their carrot cake. 😋

Darwin Eco-système
Walk across the river and make your way to Darwin Eco-système. This area of the city is completely different from Bordeaux Old Town so it makes for an interesting change of scenery. Darwin is an eco-community with art installations, shops, and restaurants for the public to enjoy. You’ll also find a skate park and lots of greenery.

Another free spot next to the Darwin Eco-système. I wandered around here for a bit and watched the ducks splash by the lily pads.

If you’re hungry or just want to grab a drink and enjoy some music, head to La Guinguette Chez Alriq. It’s an outdoor tapas bar with free, live music performances. The atmosphere is very lively and there’s a good chance you’ll see people dancing (feel free to join them as well)! 💃🏼
