City Market is full of vibrant vendors and restaurants! They also have a farmers market here on the weekends. Rooted in more than 150 years of tradition, the market is also home to the Arabia Steamboat Museum.
See MoreArabia Steamboat Museum
Located in the City Market, this one-of-a-kind museum houses the largest single collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world, recovered from a steamboat that sank in the Missouri River in 1856 and spent over 130 years buried beneath a Kansas cornfield. Highlights include clothing, fine china, tools, and even jars of pickles preserved from the wreck. Get there before November 2026 — the museum is closing for good.
See MoreBoulevard Brewing Company
One of the highlights of the whole trip! Amazing tour and tasting with really fun guides. One of the largest craft breweries in the US, Boulevard has been Kansas City's hometown beer since 1989 and the tours well worth the time.
See MorePalm Tree Club KC
This place will transport you to Florida! 10/10 for the vibes and cocktails. Co-founded by DJ Kygo's Palm Tree Crew and voted Kansas City's Best New Restaurant of 2025, the energy here is hard to beat.
See MoreMildred's Food + Drink
Mildred's Food + Drink serves up what might be the best breakfast burrito you'll ever have!! So delicious we definitely want to return. Known for flash-steaming their eggs using a dedicated espresso machine, the result is light, fluffy, and unlike anything else in Kansas City.
See MoreNational WWI Museum and Memorial
National WWI Museum and Memorial is an amazing and very educational stop for history buffs. Visitors enter the exhibit space across a glass bridge above a field of 9,000 red poppies, each representing 1,000 combatant deaths — a striking introduction to a collection of more than 350,000 artifacts from the Great War.
See MoreCountry Club Plaza
Country Club Plaza is a piece of Spain transported right into the middle of Kansas City! Modeled after Seville, Spain and opened during the Roaring Twenties, the buildings have remained nearly unchanged since 1923, with more than 30 statues, murals, and tile mosaics adding to the Spanish flavor throughout. Absolutely beautiful architecture with great shopping and restaurants to match.
See MoreThe Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is one of the most beautiful art museums I've ever seen and our favorite museum of the trip! The Rozzelle Court restaurant inside, fashioned after an open-air Italian courtyard, has been called the prettiest museum café in the Midwest.
See MoreTin Roof
Tin Roof is such a fun, lively bar in Kansas City's Westport neighborhood with live music and trivia on Thursday nights! Two stages, five bars, and three patios keep the energy going all night. It's a blast!
See MoreCafé Corazón
Café Corazón serves delicious coffee and such a unique vibe. Kansas City's first Indigenous-owned Latin American coffee house and roastery, the café draws from Argentine and Mescalero Apache heritage, reflected in everything from the specialty espresso drinks to the murals lining the walls. Truly a must visit for anyone heading to Kansas City.
See MoreAmerican Jazz Museum
American Jazz Museum is such a cool peek into the history of jazz and the influence it had in Kansas City. Located in the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District, the museum is the only one in the world solely focused on the preservation and advancement of jazz, with interactive exhibits, live performances at the on-site Blue Room jazz club, and deep dives into legends like Charlie Parker, Count Basie, and Ella Fitzgerald.
