Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site
Camden is alive with history, especially from the Revoluntionary War. At the HIstoric Camden Revolutionary War Site, visitors can explore several remaining links to the war, including historic buildings like the Kershaw House (circa 1778), which served as headquarters during the occupation of Camden by British forces between June 178 and May 1781, and the Bonds Conway House, which was built around 1811 by Bonds Conway, the first African American in Camden to purchase his own freedom.
