Each holiday season, Dana Point Harbor is adorned with festive light displays featuring over 700,000 LED lights, including the popular “Merry Kiss Me” arch and a giant whale sculpture. The harbor also hosts its annual Boat Parade of Lights in December, where visitors can hop aboard decorated boats with local outfitters to join local boaters in a holiday-themed parade at sea.

Located adjacent to Dana Point’s Baby Beach, the Ocean Institute educates 250,000 visitors annually through over 60 marine science, maritime history, and outdoor education programs designed for visitors to explore the ocean’s underwater world and California’s fascinating maritime history through fun, interactive activities that indulge in ocean curiosity. The Institute includes a state-of-the-art learning center and teaching labs, historic tall ships, and an oceanographic research vessel.
The Ocean Institute’s annual Maritime Festival is where history comes alive as crews and historical reenactors engage the public in cannon battles, pirate adventures, ship tours, and much more.
