Harbor View Hotel
The premiere spot to stay, right across from the Edgartown Lighthouse, HVH is nautical class. Rooms are very nice in the main building but even better in the outer cottages. The pool area was recently renovated and is so fun for families, couples and everything in between. Tip: Grab a glass of wine and a rocking chair on the front porch for a perfect end to the day as you watch the sun set.

Kelley House
HVH's sister property in the center of town, we like the Kelley House for it's amazing walkability and more affordable rates. A tiny pool will be fun for a plunge but it's not the main attraction of this central hotel. Tip: Their pub is very historic and feels haunted by old fisherman, in a good way. Grab some fish & chips here and be on the look out for spirits. :)

A great, affordable option, there's no frills here but the location in the center of town is excellent. Rental houses tend to be further away so the Harborside Inn is the best bet for an easy weekend stay.

Flying Horses Carousel a Vineyard Preservation Trust Property
Even if you don't have little ones in tow, come check out the country's oldest carousel. I remember being on it as a little kid and catching the golden ring, which gives you a free second ride. It was one of my favorite memories. Taking my daughter here on her first ride was really memorable.

Lighthouse Beach
Hardly any waves, this quiet beach is lovely to stroll on, searching for shells or to relax with a beach lunch picnic. The iconic Harbor Lighthouse is the beacon on this sandy spot and it reminds you that you are in MV.

Low ceilings and TONS of books, this sweet family shop is a fun stop. Their kids books are excellent as are the souvenirs. Hot Tip: Behind the Bookstore is an amazing breakfast spot that you can easily miss if you aren't in the know.

If you have little ones, the Public Library has one of the most impressive children's wings I've ever seen. It's bright and airy with arts & crafts tables, games that you can borrow and so many toys to play with. They have some amazing programming for kids and a whole outside area with obstacle courses.

The Grey Barn and Farm
Take a scenic drive through the unspoiled countryside of MV and check out this hyper professional working farm and market. Just walking around here is a visual delight. The farmstand is elegant and you can take home freshly made cheese, milk from their own cows, veggies, meats and so much more. Tip: Walk around the farm to discover bunnies, pigs, goats, horses and cats!

Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook
A bit of a drive but worth it to see these bright red clay cliffs that were made by glaciers millions of years ago. The area has a lot of touristy shops and eateries so skip that and just come for the views.

Island Alpaca Company
Alpacas are full of personality and a visit here is super entertaining. They come up to you for pets or to nibble your shirt and they are incredibly soft. The shop inside sells all sorts of Alpaca good--from hats to mittens to sweaters. It's worth the stop just to take some selfies with these quirky, leggy creatures.
