Trip Highlight
The most important thing to know about visiting these parks is that they are at 5,000-7,000 feet of elevation which means to get to them, you must drive steep and windy roads! To prevent your car or brakes from overheating, take breaks if needed, especially in the warmer months.

This is a great place to start your Sequoia adventures! This museum is right in the heart of the park and allows you to learn about the trees you will be spending lots of time with over the next few days!

This easy, 1 mile loop is a great introduction to the park. There are many off shoot trails along this if you would like to extend your hike.

Next, head to the famous Tunnel Log where you can drive through a tree if your car is small enough! This is on the way to the sunset spot for the night, Moro Rock (below).

To end day 1, hike up to Moro Rock for sunset. When the road is open, this is a 0.5 mile trail but don’t let the short distance fool you. You must climb almost 400 stairs to reach this viewpoint!

If you are camping, this is the campground we recommend. It is near a general store with food, laundry, and showers. There is also cell service here for Verizon (that’s what we have 🙃)
The Tokopah Falls hike also leaves from here.

There are not a ton of lodging options in the park and you have to drive far to reach a local town. This is a splurge-worthy stay near the park if you are looking for something other than camping!
