Finca Victoria Vieques
One of the most unique properties I’ve stayed at! This Ayurvedic hotel is nestled on a hilltop on the island of Vieques, surrounded by lush vegetation that makes you feel calm, grounded, and connected to nature. Room options include cabins, houses, treehouses, and an Airstream. There is a daily yoga class each morning, vegan breakfast, a freshwater pool, and a wonderful list of spa treatments to choose from. My favorite part was falling asleep each evening to the soothing sounds of the native coquí frogs.

Bahía Bioluminiscente (Mosquito Bay)
What a special experience! We were with a group of about six others on this trip — the perfect size. Each kayak held two people. We all paddled out to the middle of the bay with our guide, who was informative, funny, and experienced. It was really amazing to see the bioluminescent marine life — the whole experience was spectacular!

Black Sand Beach
A unique beach with black sand and beautiful rock formations. There was a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the beach, but the stunning views made it all worthwhile.

Caracas Beach
This had to be one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever visited! The soft white sand and the clear blue water made for the most picturesque views. I’d head back here every day if I could.

We only stopped at this beach for a short time because it started to drizzle, but it's postcard-worthy!

Sun Bay Beach
A popular beach with the locals — and I can see why! There’s a long stretch of sand, plenty of palm trees, and lots of parking. It’s fun to see the locals hang their hammocks on the trees as they relax to the soothing sounds of the sea.

We came back to this lively area every day of our trip! It’s a great spot to stroll up and down the promenade, with lots of food options and a beautiful beach view.

El Quenepo Vieques
We stopped here for dinner one evening and were lucky enough to get a table without having made a reservation. This dining spot is popular for good reason, and I was happy to find a few vegetarian options! I ordered the focaccia and the burrata; both were absolutely delicious!

We came here on the final evening of our stay, and it was an immediate favorite! There were food trucks with a variety of cuisine options, lots of communal seating, and a fun, lively vibe!

Rising Roost
This is where we went for breakfast on the final morning of our stay, and I wish we’d found it sooner! The food was fantastic (I had a veggie omelet, fresh juice, toast, and a latte), and there was live music playing while we dined. If you get there during brunch hour, be prepared to wait for a table.

We walked up this promenade while exploring Old San Juan, and it led us to vibrant buildings, picturesque streets, local vendors, historical sights, and the beautiful sea alongside us the entire time.

Castillo San Felipe del Morro
We debated which historical sight to visit on our trip since we only had one day in Old San Juan, but knew we had made the right choice once we stepped inside this castle. The architecture felt like we were walking back in time, and the views of the water and the city were spectacular.

This was such a colorful and charming area; I couldn’t resist taking a million photos! It felt like I was on a movie set the whole time.

Our first lunch in Old San Juan did not disappoint. I really appreciated the variety of vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered a stuffed pepper with lentils and a tomato salad, both fantastic.

Being under the water with the marine life is one of the most peaceful things you can do. The crystal clear water in Vieques makes it an excellent place for snorkeling. This tour is about four hours, includes transportation, and supplies all the equipment you need.

If you have time in San Juan, this is a unique and breathtaking way to see the city. You'll get a clear-bottom kayak with LED lights on it. You can also paint yourself with glow-in-the-dark paint. Once the sun goes down, the city, the water, and even you are glowing while peacefully paddling around Condado Lagoon.
