Day 1: Riyadh

Centro Olaya
In Riyadh, we stayed at this Centro Olaya for 2 nights and explored places from there. Loved the breakfast at this hotel! Also, the view from the hotel rooftop is amazing!

Riyadh Desert Safari Camp
On the first evening, we did a private Desert Safari Camp**, and** this tour included riding quads, delicious BBQ (that was prepared in front of us, so special!!!); we were able to pet camels and also went sand boarding and stargazing. A truly unique experience!

Day 2: Riyadh

Najd Village
We had lunch at this local and traditional restaurant and we loved it! You have your own little private rooms with a fire pit. The experience is truly unique and the food is so fresh and good!

Historic Diriyah Fort
The birthplace of Saudi Arabia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic district is where the first Saudi state was founded. Built in traditional Najdi mud-brick architecture, Al-Turaif offers a glimpse into the Kingdom’s roots through restored palaces, museums, and timeless pathways. One of the highlights of our time in Riyadh and an absolute must-visit — especially at golden hour.

Edge of the World
One of the most breathtaking natural sights near the city. Located about 90 km northwest of Riyadh (around a 1.5–2 hour drive), this dramatic cliff in the Tuwaiq Escarpment offers endless views over the desert that truly make you feel on top of the world. We did a private tour and watching the sunset over the cliffs was unforgettable. Easily one of the highlights of our time in Riyadh and an absolute must-visit if you’re exploring beyond the city.

Day 3: Riyadh-Al Ula

Harrat Viewpoint
Arrived in AlUla and headed to this incredible viewpoint on our first evening! The views from there were breathtaking! You can see the whole valley! There is also an Italian restaurant up there, so if you're hungry or thirsty, you can check it out. We would definitely do that next time!

Hegra | الحِجر
One of the most unique archaeological sites in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to ancient Nabataean tombs carved into sandstone cliffs, each telling a story thousands of years old. We did a private morning tour (2 hours) with 5 different stops, which made the experience feel intimate and truly special. A once-in-a-lifetime place — and next time, experiencing Hegra after dark is definitely on the list.

Day 4: Al Ula

Shalal Cafe
This cafe is actually located in a slot canyon. So, in order to get to it you need to walk through a very narrow canyon for like 5-10 minutes! It is the most unique cafe I have ever been to! We tried the Saudi Coffee and dates here and loved both!

Maraya Concert Hall | قاعة مرايا
The world’s largest mirrored building, set in the heart of the desert. Surrounded by dramatic sandstone mountains, Maraya reflects its landscape so perfectly it almost disappears. Designed as a cultural venue for concerts, exhibitions, and events, it’s where architecture, art, and nature meet. Seeing Maraya in person felt surreal — a true highlight in AlUla and an absolute must-visit if you’re exploring the region.

Elephant Rock (Jabal AlFil)
Elephant Rock is one of AlUla’s most iconic natural landmarks. This incredible rock formation, shaped like an elephant, was created by millions of years of wind and water erosion. It’s a relaxed gathering spot where visitors can wander around, take in the scenery, and enjoy food and drinks from nearby cafés and stalls. Perfect to visit around sunset, when the light softens and the desert comes alive. A must-see while exploring AlUla.

AlUla Old Town
AlUla Old Town is a place where history truly comes to life. This historic settlement is made up of centuries-old mud-brick houses and narrow alleyways that once formed a thriving community. We did a guided tour that was incredibly informative and ended at the Old Town fort, where you get panoramic views over the entire city. Super interesting, rich in history, and a must-visit to truly understand AlUla!

A beautifully restored heritage hotel in the heart of Old Town. Dar Tantora blends traditional architecture with thoughtful design, creating a truly special place to stay or visit. We stopped by to explore the hotel and had dinner at Joontos, the on-site restaurant — and the food was phenomenal. An unforgettable dining experience in a stunning historic setting.

Day 5: Al Ula-Jeddah

Jabal Ikmah
Jabal Ikmah in AlUla is an open-air library carved into stone. This incredible site is covered in ancient inscriptions that offer deep insight into AlUla’s history and early civilizations. The guided tour was so informative and fascinating — you truly learn a lot about the region’s past. One of the coolest parts: you can carve your name in the ancient Dadan language and take the stone home as a souvenir. Such a unique, hands-on experience and a must-visit in AlUla.

Daimumah Oasis
This scenic trail winds through a historic oasis filled with palm trees, farmland, and traditional irrigation systems, offering a completely different perspective of the region. We ended our AlUla journey with a visit here, and it was the perfect, calming way to wrap up the experience. A beautiful, slower-paced stop that highlights how life has thrived in AlUla for centuries.

This museum showcases traditional architecture, artifacts, and exhibitions that tell the story of the Kingdom’s culture and past. We started our day here, and it was the perfect introduction to better understand Jeddah and Saudi history before exploring the city. Informative, beautifully curated, and well worth a visit.

You can wander here for hours, discovering hidden corners, shops, and historic homes. We explored Al Balad in the afternoon, and it was the perfect time to soak in the atmosphere. A must-visit to truly feel Jeddah’s history.
