Where was Odysseus's palace in "The Odyssey" filmed? Well, this historic 15th-century castle on Favignana (known as Goat Island) served as the palace on Ithaca...where Penelope (played by Anne Hathaway) and Telemachus (played by Tom Holland) await the return of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon). According to reports, there are no access roads, and the cast and crew had to hike 900 feet up to the castle to shoot every day for three weeks! If you visit, you too will need to hike up the hill, which takes about 30-45 minutes.

Draken Harald Hårfagre
This fully operational Viking ship appeared in the film. You can see (and tour) it in Oslo! Nolan wanted to have a real ship in the film (even though, technically, the Viking period came hundreds of years later). Reportedly, the actors went to "rowing school" to learn how to accurately power and steer the ship for the film. The ship actually sailed all around the Mediterranean, the North Sea, and even near Iceland!
