Newport
An hour long sunset cruise is the perfect start to your night and great for any size group. You'll pass by Fort Adams State Park and the Castle Hill Lighthouse. Drinks are available to buy on board!
Frequented by both locals and tourists, you can't go wrong with Clarke Cooke House. The atmosphere here is quintessional Newport. They have a wide variety of food options - from sushi and oysters to burgers and lobster rolls - and it's all amazing. It's a smaller space that is always full, so a reservation is definitely needed. There's a second bar upstairs which is a great vibe for pre or post drinks.
Who doesn't love a warm cookie? The Cookie Jar is in Bannister's Wharf, right next to Clarke Cooke House. In the summer they're open late night!
If you're looking for live music and dancing this is your place. The energy in here is unmatched. Blues has an upstairs and downstairs with bars on both floors - and upstairs you can look down at the dancefloor!
A locally owned coffee shop known for its Nitrogen infused cold brew coffee. They offer a wide variety of house-made syrups which are to die for! This is the Thames street location, but there's another one close by on Broadway.
Who doesn't love a hole in the wall sandwich shop? Marco's offers breakfast and lunch - the perfect place to hit before spending the day at the beach.
You can't go wrong with any of the beaches in Newport. Second Beach has a good amount of parking, and when their main lots are full there are some locals a quick walk away who offer parking in their yards for a reasonable price!
Some call it the best Mudslide in Newport... I definitely recommend finding out for yourself! A great stop for after the beach. The vibes are chill where you could make the stop before or after going home to shower!
Right on the water, 22 Bowen's is an amazing spot for dinner or drinks. While it's a classic steakhouse, anything you order will be delicious. The vibe is definitely on the sophisticated side! It is a bit of a splurge, but it's worth it.
Don't let the name fool you - this place has the widest variety of espresso martinis you've ever seen - and they're AMAZING. Stop here after dinner for an espresso martini before going out on the town.
The Landing has it ALL! Downstairs has 2 bars with live music playing and is pretty much completely outside. Upstairs has another 2 bars - in one area you can look over the bannister and enjoy the live music, while inside there's music blasting and everyone is dancing. The cover to get in can get pretty crazy in the summer so I recommend getting there on the earlier side.
There is almost always a line at this quaint breakfast place - but it's worth the wait!
This trolley tour is the perfect way to see Newport. Over the 3 hours you'll see more than 150 points of interest along Ocean Drive, Bellevue Avenue, Cliff Walk, and more - with commentary from a professional guide. Included is admission to The Breakers, a Vanderbilt mansion and U.S. National Historic Landmark.
A Rhode Island staple - this frozen lemonade is so refreshing and is the perfect way to end your day. Lemon is the OG, but I think Watermelon is the way to go. If you don't want to look like a tourist DON'T USE A STRAW!
A great option for bigger groups - with plenty of locations to choose from in the heart of Newport.
