Tucked along a cobbled city center square, we sat out on their patio and enjoyed delicious food with fresh, flavorful Nordic ingredients. Highlights included the spinach dish, fried turbot, ricotta gnocchi and bread sticks dipped in oil, served in a seashell.

Delish! Perfect way to start the day and such a cute cafe. Polly is an all-day spot on Gammel Kongevej known for its French-inspired breakfast and brunch menu.

Such a vibe! With so many food and drink stalls we had a tough time choosing where to have lunch. Everything looked and smelled so good. Come early in the day for a quieter atmosphere and in the evenings for live music and fun. Well worth the short, easy commute from central Copenhagen.

COPENPAY ACTIVITY: "Become a gardener for a day at Reffen and get a free lemonade or beer." We had so much fun doing this and learning more about Reffen and the community garden. The experience gives you more appreciation for the location, and the cold drink reward afterward is a refreshing way to celebrate.

Very cool photo op spot with giant elephant statues towering above you. The four granite elephants were commissioned by Carlsberg's Carl Jacobsen and mark the entrance to the original brewery grounds, just a short walk from Home of Carlsberg.

We did the self-guided exhibit tour and had so much fun! Lots of interactive features with a great insight into the history and journey of the Jacobsen family. Be sure to stop by the stables to meet the horses. We then enjoyed a pint of Carlsberg, possibly the most refreshing pint we've ever had!

Folkehuset Absalon
COPENPAY ACTIVITY: "Start your day with a bike ride or walk through the streets of Copenhagen, and join a collective breakfast with travelers and locals." This social breakfast was one of the highlights of our trip! Such a cute way to meet locals and fellow travelers. Stay and take a tour of the renovated former church, it's super neat and inspiring!

We stopped in on our way from Absalon to Frederiksberg Have. It was nice to take a peaceful moment to stroll the cemetery grounds and admire the graves and gardens here.

You need to eat here! Located in one of the oldest buildings in Frederiksberg, it’s a cozy spot with traditional Danish food. Our Smørrebrød (traditional open-faced sandwiches) were amazing and the old-fashioned apple cake is a must-try.

Absolutely magical! Spend the day or afternoon here enjoying the whimsical park grounds, rides, restaurants and concerts. We loved riding the Rutschebanen, the oldest operating roller coaster in Europe.

Juno the bakery
Worth. The. Hype. Wow, this bakery absolutely blew us away and we enjoyed some of the best pastries we’ve ever had. Loved getting to see inside the kitchen where they make everything from scratch too!

Another highlight of our time in Copenhagen! We embraced living like a local and went for a swim in the harbor bath, an official bathing zone in the new Nordhavn quarter (open year-round). You can lounge on the boardwalk here and enjoy the cafes and restaurants nearby. Such a cool experience!

Known for having some of the city's best Mexican tacos, this was a delicious spot for lunch! Chef Rosio Sanchez trained at Noma, one of the most celebrated restaurants in modern fine dining, before bringing her taco concept here.

We only walked through this area but wish we could have stayed longer. From soccer to picnics, volleyball to skateboarding, a playground for the little ones and so much more, this area has such a fun and active atmosphere for visitors and locals.

Assistens Cemetery
A peaceful cemetery where some of Denmark's most famous figures like Hans Christian Andersen are buried. The towering tree-lined path is even more phenomenal in person. We found a quiet spot to sit and rest beneath the trees here.

Walk across and enjoy the views! The beautiful arched granite bridge is iconic and we loved seeing the many cyclists pedal by.

Wow. Such a memorable fine dining experience! The Michelin Guide recognized restaurant is so imaginative. We walked down the stairs through the greenhouse setting to our table and experienced wonderful Nordic cuisine crafted with fresh ingredients. The wine pairings were also the perfect touch!

BUKA Bakery
We had to get one last pastry fix in before heading home and this spot was phenomenal. Sit in and enjoy or take a box to go and enjoy at a nearby park or on the canals.
