We love kicking off our day at charming cafes, and this spot was absolutely fantastic! It offers outdoor seating for sunny days, plus plenty of cozy indoor space if the weather turns chilly. As big matcha fans, we can confidently say their matcha was delicious! While they’re known for their tempting baked goods, we were perfectly satisfied with our matchas—though it was hard to resist trying them!

One of the best things about the Hudson Valley is its deep appreciation for bookstores, and this one was a true gem. It’s a charming local used bookstore with two stories packed with books, DVDs, VHS tapes, vinyl records, and even CDs! Walking through it felt like stepping into a museum of our childhoods—such a fun experience, filled with nostalgia to admire as we explored!

Catering to a group with dietary restrictions can be tricky, but Sissy’s Cafe truly offers the best of both worlds! They have an incredible selection for vegan and vegetarian friends, but as non-vegans ourselves, we tried the Hot Bird and it was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend it!

If you visit one place in the area, make it this one! This book bar cafe is every book lover’s dream come true. It felt like stepping into a Pinterest board—our favorite spot of the day. It’s the perfect space to either lose yourself in a book or have a great conversation with friends. Fun fact: In every Hudson Valley town, there’s bound to be a local vinyl shop worth exploring! We love checking out places like this—even though we don’t own a record player—because they have an amazing selection of music. Plus, it always reminds me of what I should add to my collection and sparks the idea of eventually getting a record player!

With a unique selection of treats I hadn’t seen before, it was a fun experience to explore. Of course, we couldn’t resist picking up some classic sweet and sour spaghetti—and it was incredible!

Day 3- Woodstock

The Mud Club Woodstock
Out of all the cafes I’ve been to, this one is by far my favorite. From the carefully curated seating to the attention to detail in every corner, it’s the coziest local spot that never disappoints. As a matcha lover, I can say this place does it best (sorry to the other two spots, you were great, but Mudclub is #1). They’re known for their oven-brick bagels, which I highly recommend trying on your visit. And the best part? It’s dog-friendly!

Right across the street, you’ll spot a shop surrounded by a candle-shaped fence, and if that doesn’t give away what they sell, the name will. Candlestock is the ultimate haven for candle lovers, and as one myself, the aromas and incredible variety of candle brands they carry were a dream come true!
