We’ve tried (just about) every brewery in Austin and therefore present y’all our Austin Brewery Directory for Dog Owners! These are all of the Austin-area breweries with descriptions of their dog-friendliness. With our trusty guide, you’ll never have to scour the internet or call each brewery again!
Austin Beerworks
While we adore Austin Beerworks for their beer, it wasn’t until recently that we started taking our pups along with us to their brewery. Why? Dogs used to not be allowed on their turfed patio, but now they are! So grab those puppers and enjoy some of the best brews in town!
See MoreBeerburg
The newest brewery along what I call the “Beermuda Triangle” (you know what I’m talking about), Beerburg has a huge dog-friendly beer garden for you and your pup to hang out in. Since they do make food in-house, pups are not allowed in the taproom, but that’s okay because they have their very own fenced-in dog park on the grounds. Great job targeting the ATX dog owners, Beerburg!
See MoreBell Springs Brewing Company
Chalk another one up to the Hill Country — Bell Springs Brewing opened next to their 10-year-old winery and is already serving up some incredible brews. They have a huge beer and wine garden to bring the pups out to, plus their air-conditioned taproom is also dog-friendly.
See MoreBluebonnet Beer Company
Bluebonnet crafts some delicious beers out of their quaint brewery, which allows dogs inside and outside... However, the brewery can get pretty crowded, so plan on getting there early if you want a spot inside.
See MoreBlue Owl Brewing
Whether you’re a sour (beer) person or not, we always recommend that people at least try one from Blue Owl’s. The best part is that dogs are allowed in their taproom and covered patio, however, it can get crowded fast, so be sure to get there early to nab a spot in the AC.
See MoreThe Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen
While we love this place, they unfortunately don’t allow dogs in their taproom. However, they do have a nicely shaded patio that welcomes dogs, but there isn’t a lot of air flow, so it can get pretty warm. Still worth it if you can make it on a not-so-hot day!
See MoreCentral District Brewing
Unfortunately, due to city regulations Central District is not dog-friendly at all.
See MoreCentral Machine Works
The only thing “micro” about this microbrewery is their beer production, only having one to three of their own beers on tap at a time. Their huge dog-friendly space makes up for it, and they have plenty of other guest beers for you to drink while you visit.
See MoreCelis Brewery
We recommend Celis to everyone with a dog because, duh, AC! Yup, they allow dogs both inside their taproom and outside on their patio/parking lot area.
See MoreDraught House Pub & Brewery
This British-style pub/brewery is another go-to spot while up North. They have a huge dog-friendly patio which stays nicely shaded and breezy.
See MoreHi Sign Brewing
Located right by the Airport, Hi Sign allows dogs in their air-conditioned taproom and in their outdoor patio (which is more like a gorgeous backyard). Keep in mind that it can get pretty noisy due to the airport, so we recommend bringing pups who don’t get anxious with loud noises.
See MoreHopsquad Brewing Co
One of Austin’s newest (and most anticipated) breweries, Hopsquad’s spacious and open-concept taproom is totally dog-friendly. Since it’s new, it is often crowded, so we recommend getting there early to grab a good spot inside.
See MoreIndependence Brewing Co.
While they used to allow dogs inside, Independence Brewing currently only allows dogs in their outdoor area. There isn’t a lot of shade (plus it’s in the parking lot), so we only recommend bringing the doggos when it’s cool outside.
See MoreInfamous Brewing Company
Another brewery totally worth the drive is Infamous (can we count that as a pun?). They allow dogs in their air-conditioned taproom, as well as on their partly-shaded patio.
See MoreJester King Brewery
One of our all-time favorite breweries, Jester King, is extremely dog-friendly. They have a huge plot of land, and dogs are allowed almost everywhere. It does get pretty hot, but they have lots of shaded spots with fans and misters.
See MoreLast Stand Brewing Bar and Kitchen
Dogs are not allowed in the taproom at Last Stand, but they are welcome on their nicely shaded patio. If you’re coming during the heat of the summer, get there early to grab a spot in the shade!
See MoreLazarus Brewing Co. East 6th
Lazarus features a dog-friendly room which is nicely covered and air-conditioned. They do not have bar service in that room, so you’ll have to either bring a friend or tie your pup up when you’re ready to order.
See MoreLive Oak Brewing Company
While dogs are not allowed in the taproom, Live Oak has a gorgeous back patio in which almost every seat is shaded by giant trees, making it a perfect spot to bring your dog.
See MoreNomadic Beerworks
Austin’s newest brewery, Nomadic, is already doing. it. right, by allowing dogs inside their cool taproom. They also have a small outdoor area with lots of grass in case someone needs to potty.
See MoreOddwood Brewing
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the Oddwood Ales taproom, and their patio is fairly small and uncovered. Because of that, we don’t recommend bringing your pups here unless it’s a decent temperature outside.
See MorePinthouse Pizza
Since they make food in-house, dogs are not allowed in the taproom. This location has a couple of outdoor tables, but no shade, so we only recommend bringing your pup on cooler days.
See MoreRed Horn Coffee House and Brewing Co.
Serving both beer and coffee, Red Horn is one of my favorite work-from-home spots. Dogs are allowed on the nicely shaded patio and on their covered deck.
See MoreRentsch Brewery
If you’re up for the drive, this is one of our favorite dog-friendly spots in North Austin. They have a great covered patio, as well as grassy areas that are partially shaded.
See MoreSouthern Heights Brewing Company
A great warehouse-style brewery, Southern Heights allows dogs in their breezy taproom as well as on their covered patio.
See MoreSt. Elmo Brewing Company
While we adore St. Elmo, their partially covered patio can get pretty hot and sunny on those pesky summer (and spring and fall) days. They do not allow dogs in their taproom, so we either recommend getting there super early to grab a shaded spot or leaving your dogs at home if it’s uncomfortably hot out.
See MoreSuds Monkey Kitchen & Brewery Dripping Springs
A great option for those super-South Austinites, as they allow dogs in their air-conditioned taproom.
See MoreTwisted X Brewing Company
Another great brewery in the Dripping Springs area, Twisted X allows dogs both in their air-conditioned taproom and on their gorgeous patio. Totally worth the drive if you ask us!
See MoreVista Brewing
A great location out in the Hill Country, dogs are allowed in the air-conditioned taproom plus all over their grounds (keep those leashes on, please).
See MoreWhitestone Brewery
A great dog-friendly option for those up North, Whitestone allows dogs on their covered and breezy patio.
See MoreZilker Brewing Company and Taproom
Zilker allows dogs on their covered patio, but it can get pretty warm during the summer, so get there early to snag one of the best spots! They even have some great doggy merch, so be on the lookout for that, too.
See More12 Fox Beer Co
Dripping Springs has another fantastic brewery! 12 Fox has a property made up of a few acres, all of which are dog-friendly. They have a lot of outdoor picnic tables with lots of room for the pups, as well as a covered (but open/no AC) taproom. Definitely a must-stop if you’re driving that way!
See More(512) Brewing Company
We’re waiting to get full confirmation on this one, but for now, it appears that 512 has a few outdoor tables where dogs are allowed!
